The flood situation in Sylhet (a district in the northeastern region of Bangladesh) has worsened. The flood situation has worsened due to continuous rains and continued uphill landslides from neighboring India. In addition to the low-lying areas, water also entered the city.

According to the Sylhet District Meteorological Office, Sylhet has recorded 294 mm of rainfall from Monday morning to Tuesday morning.

Cherrapunji in India has received 645 mm of rainfall in the last three days. However, in the last 24 hours, the amount of rain in Cherrapunji has reduced.

It is expected that the flood situation in Sylhet will worsen if the rainfall increases. Rain continues in Sylhet. The water of the rivers of the district is flowing over the boundary line.

The district administration in Sylhet said that the water level of rivers has increased due to rains for the last two days. Fenchuganj, Balaganj, Osmaninagar, and Biswanath areas have seen a slight increase in water. Due to rising water, people are coming to the shelters again.
