Over 150,000 People Trapped in Flooding in Jamalpur

 the communication system of this district has broken.

The flood situation in Jamalpur (a north-side district of Bangladesh) has not improved. In the last 24 hours, the water of the Jamuna River has decreased by 6 cm at Bahadurabad ghat point and is flowing 87 cm above the flood limit.

However, over 150,000 People of 42 unions of 7 upazilas of the district are still in water-trapped condition. 170 educational institutions in the affected area are submerged.

Many unpaved roads in Dewanganj and Islampur sub-districts have been damaged by water. Several driving roads have been submerged in water. Flood water is still rushing into the villages.

The communication system between the upazila and the district headquarters has broken down due to the sinking of the roads.

The district administration said that hundreds of shelters have been opened in the affected areas. Many displaced people have taken refuge there.
