Flood: The Southeast region of Bangladesh is in Extreme Humanitarian Crisis!

Feni:

“Feni has been separated from Bangladesh: no internet, no mobile network, no gas line, no water supply. At least half a million people are trapped in water. We managed to rescue 70 people in two trips in our boat throughout the day. A lot of time is required to go to rescue in the remote areas. The terrible flow of water within the sadar(city), and other upazilas(sub-districts) like: Parashuram, and Sonagazi are even worse!”

Dr. Amir Hamza Himel said to Renew Earth News, who is associated with a rescue team. A team who participated in the relief and rescue work of the flood victims in Feni district on their initiative.

He also said, “No team could coordinate the rescue task as the mobile network became inactive.”

Dr. Hamza, a doctor by profession, said, “Fungal infection, scabies, and wound injury problems have occurred in the people. The medical camp is required. But the most important thing is drinking water. There is a shortage of drinking water in Feni town itself. And many, many rescue boats are needed.”
